How to prepare

We ask you to fast for six hours before your health assessment. This means you may not eat or drink anything during this time, although water is fine, as is black coffee or tea without milk or sugar. Blood tests will be taken for your assessment, and they might return falsely high values if you have eaten.

If you’re on a course of Levaxin or Euthyrox, we ask you not to medicate on the day of your health assessment.
If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please bring them. If you’re over 50 and wear contact lenses, you should remove them for the examination (we’ll be measuring intraocular pressure).

After your assessment, a complimentary vegetarian snack and hot drink will be available in our café. Please tell us in advance of any allergies you have.

Arrive in good time

Please arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment to give yourself time to register in reception and, if necessary, make an appointment with a physician. Report to the reception on the ground floor on arrival.

Bring valid proof of ID.

Where to find us

Sophiahemmet is at Valhallavägen 91 in central Stockholm next to Stockholm Stadion sports arena. We are well-served by public transport: by metro to Tekniska Högskolan, by the Roslagsbanan train to Östra Station or by bus to Stadion.

Hälsocentralen is in B block.

We are located in large hospital grounds with limited parking. If you decide to come by car, we recommend setting off in good time before your appointment.

Contact, cancellation and re-booking

Feel free to call us. Our telephone hours are weekdays, 8.00 am – 11.30 am and 1.00 pm – 4.00 pm.

Please inform us if you wish to cancel an appointment. In the event of a missed health assessment, Hälsocentralen reserves the right to charge 100% of the fee. In the event of health assessment cancelled (within 24 hours) appointment, Hälsocentralen reserves the right to charge 50% of the fee. Cancellations may be made by phone or via our online service. After logging in using a Swedish BankID, you can also renew a prescription, request a certificate and ask about contracts and other corporate matters. Note that you won’t be able to view your appointments online. For urgent matters or to rebook, please call us.
